Changi Airport Group (CAG) actively participates in trade shows both locally and overseas to showcase Changi Airport to the global audience. Beyond presenting Changi as a leading air hub and an innovator in airport experiences, trade shows also serve as an important platform for CAG to network with partners from the aviation community and meet with business prospects to promote its airport operations and management services as well as capabilities.
Highlights of CAG’s booth at Singapore Airshow 2024
For Singapore Airshow 2024 – Asia’s most influential international aerospace and defence event, CAG has seized the opportunity to provide visitors a glimpse into how it is leveraging advancements in technology to transform and future-proof the airport, positioning itself as an innovative and forward-thinking company.
The first highlight of its booth would be the ChangiVerse pods. As one of the first airports to venture into Roblox, visitors of Singapore Airshow this year can experience the magic of Changi Airport in the Metaverse. Offering a unique adventure, futuristic dome-shaped pods mimicking a go-kart were specially designed to immerse visitors in the wondrous world of Changi, as they race through the tracks with Changi characters.

Another highlight of Changi’s exhibit is an immersive room where visitors can experience operational challenges in Changi’s airside. When visitors enter this room, they will be brought through a journey simulating the conditions which workers at the airside will have to operate under during inclement weather.

Set in a spherical shaped enclosure with ‘clouds’ looming above, visitors standing within will find out what it feels like to handle passengers’ baggage during a thunderstorm. As the story unfolds, they will gain an appreciation of what it takes for ground handling staff to fulfill their duties at the airside and ensure that essential airport operations continue seamlessly despite adverse weather, as long as there is no lighting risk.
The team from CAG, together with our videographers headed down to the airside over several days when it was raining, to capture the challenging working conditions of our ground handlers.
With the theme of the booth being “Innovative Airport of the Future”, CAG also showcased how it is transforming airport operations through innovative technology while tackling the issues of manpower shortage and a greying workforce. Through four informative panels, visitors are introduced to a lineup of cutting-edge solutions that are being tested to reshape airport operations and overcome challenges in the airside. For example, the Bulk Baggage Handling System, with its gravity-based design, enables seamless loading and unloading of luggage while significantly reducing manual lifting efforts. In another innovation, the Auto-Dolly showcases its ability to autonomously transport baggage containers, even in adverse weather conditions, ensuring ongoing operations.
In addition, incorporating elements of nature is not only important for the aesthetics of the booth, but also showcases the beauty and lush greenery that the airport is renowned for. The booth features a display of tropical plants covering the perimeter of the booth and a hanging structure suspended from the booth's ceiling, which adds visual interest and dimension to the space. These horticultural elements seamlessly integrate nature into the booth design, providing a refreshing sight at the tradeshow that is not to be missed.

For CAG, preparing for trade shows is a meticulous process from conceptualisation to execution. With preparations starting months ahead of the airshow, every detail is orchestrated and nothing is left to chance. Various teams in CAG worked closely to design, plan and test the exhibits at the booth, to ensure that visitors will have an impactful and enjoyable experience.
